It was Paco Boy who claimed the first race of Royal Ascot 2009 in fine style as he pulled away from the field. It was the worlds top rated horse Gladiatorus who set the pace but he faded badly as Paco Boy cruised passed him.

Australian Sprint star Scenic Blast attacked late down the outside and despite a good late run from Fleeting Spirit he came home a comfortable winner.
