2012 Royal Ascot Tips

Like any of the other big race meetings, tips are always popular as punters go in search of making easy money by backing the selections of Racing pundits and those 'in the know'. Tips for Royal Ascot are no different such is the popularity of Royal Ascot betting amongst racing fans and with thrity races to choose from, punters should rightly expect to be pointed in the direction of a few winners.

Day 1 - Tuesday

2:30pm - Queen Anne Stakes

Selection: Goldikova (win) @ odds of 6/4 with Paddy Power. 2nd

TOM SAYS: "With the going and weight allowance in mind, I have to say I think the bookmakers are wrong in making Canford Cliffs their marginal favourite, and at a widely available 6/4 I'm firmly in the Goldikova camp as she bids to leave the Hannon team disappointed once again."

3:45pm - St James's Palace Stakes

Selection: Dubawi Gold (each-way) @ odds of 14/1 with Ladbrokes. 6th

TOM SAYS: "Dubawi Gold remains a young horse of immense potential, and with nine declared we've got two chances to hit the frame at the 14/1 available each way with Ladbrokes."

Selection: Veiled (each-way) @ odds of 11/2 with Paddy Power. 1st

TOM SAYS: "Winner of four of her six turf starts on the level, plus three of her six starts over hurdles, she's a thorough stayer who comes here off the back of a win at Newmarket, sits pleasingly towards the bottom of the handicap, and must hold a major shout here."

3:05pm - Windsor Forest Stakes

Selection: Field Day (each-way) @ odds of 25/1 with Stan James. 6th

TOM SAYS: "Her two runs this season haven't been quite up to scratch, but if she can bounce back to her best on a more suitable track in the hands of the best pilot, then there's no way in the world she should be written off as a 25/1 rag."

4:25pm - Royal Hunt Cup

Selection: Super Say (each-way) @ odds of 16/1 with Paddy Power. 27th

TOM SAYS: "Up seven pounds for his latest win at the Curragh he arrives here with a nice racing weight off a mark of 98, and simply loves the hustle and bustle of these big field handicaps."

Day 3 - Thursday

2:30pm - Norfolk Stakes

Selection: Crown Dependancy (each-way) @ odds of 15/2 with Paddy Power. 3rd

TOM SAYS: "Richard Hughes had to give him a bit of help when winning at Goodwood, but when he pushed the button there was plenty in the tank, and he was eased towards the finish for an easy debut victory. I do think there's value to be had there each way."

3:05pm - Ribblesdale Stakes

Selection: Banimpire (win) @ odds of 3/1 with Ladbrokes. 1st

TOM SAYS: "Three times a Group 3 winner already this calendar year, she bounced back from a fifth in the Irish Guineas (when sent off just 9/1) with a win over the Ribblesdale trip just four days ago in the Noblesse Stakes."

3:45pm - Ascot Gold Cup

Selection: Tastahil (each-way) @ odds of 20/1 with Ladbrokes. PU

TOM SAYS: "My idea is to dip in at a far bigger price than the favourite with a small each way bet on Barry Hills' Tastahil, a 20/1 poke with Ladbrokes, with the Magic Sign making a decent concession at a third of the odds a place."

3:05pm - King Edward VII Stakes

Selection: World Domination (win) @ odds of 5/1 with Paddy Power.

TOM SAYS: "Stepping up in trip to a mile and a half will suit him ideally, and Sir Henry can add another winner to the board after Frankel's St James's Palace victory on the opening day."

4:25pm - Wolferton Handicap

Selection: Riggins (each-way) @ odds of 40/1 with Stan James.

TOM SAYS: "Had this horse not been so fragile he's shown more than enough sparks of ability along the way to suggest he could have gone on to far better things, but he doesn't have many miles on the clock and time may not have run out for his small stable to gain some headlines with a big run here."
