The thirty winning horses in 2011 were ridden by only nineteen individual jockeys, with Ryan Moore and Richard Hughes topping the lists with three winners each. Moore will always be amongst the contenders for top jockey in 2012, due to him being stable jockey to the Sir Michael Stoute yard, who are usually assured of at least a couple of winners at every Royal Ascot.

Richard Hughes rides principally for Richard Hannon, whose stable has been in great form for the last couple of years. They will be represented this year by at least one with a winning chances.

Other jockeys to keep notes on are Frankie Dettori, who usually gets offered some fabulous rides as does former champion jockey, Kieren Fallon, who now seems to be back at his absolute best.
