The King's Stand Stakes is one of three fantastic Group One races that open Royal Ascot on Day One. It is the shortest race at the meeting run over a short, sharp sprint distance of five furlongs and attracts the best sprinters from around the World.
The race is open to horses aged three years and over and only re-gained Group One status in 2008, something that has heightened the interest in this exciting sprint race and more of the big guns of the sprint world can be expected to line up in 2009.

Foreign Runners have a fantastic record in this race in recent years, particularly Australian horses who have won the race three times in the past six years and to find the last British winner you have to go back to 2004 - Get more preview, trends and Royal Ascot tips from Channel 4 Racing's Tom Lee.
